Srinagar, Sept 14: A 17-year-old boy, identified as Shahid Yousuf, was injured today in a landmine blast near an Army installation in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Blast Details
Officials said the blast occurred near the ammunition depot at Khundru, where landmines are planted as part of the security perimeter. Shahid was passing by the area when the explosion went off, injuring him.
Medical Response
The teenager was immediately rushed to a hospital for treatment. His current condition has not been disclosed by the medical authorities.
Authorities’ Statement
Officials stated that it is yet to be ascertained whether Shahid directly stepped on the landmine or if the blast was triggered by other factors. Security forces and police are investigating the matter, and further details are awaited.
