NEW DELHI, Sept 14: The Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terror outfit has begun the reconstruction of its demolished headquarters, Markaz Taiba, located in Muridke in Pakistan’s Punjab province.
According to reports, LeT has set February 5, 2026 as the symbolic deadline to inaugurate the rebuilt complex. The new facility is expected to once again serve as the organisation’s central hub for training, indoctrination, and operational planning.
Background: Operation Sindoor
The original Muridke headquarters was destroyed by the Indian Armed Forces during Operation Sindoor, carried out between May 6 and May 10. The operation was described as a major counter-terror strike aimed at crippling LeT’s infrastructure and disrupting its cross-border terror operations.
Concerns Over Revival
Security analysts warn that reconstruction of the Muridke complex could allow LeT to regroup and re-establish networks across the region. The development may trigger heightened diplomatic and counter-terrorism responses from India and the international community.
