
LEH, Sept 24: The District Magistrate (DM) of Leh on Tuesday imposed restrictions under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) 2023, citing possible disturbances to peace and threats to human safety.
The order prohibits rallies, processions, and gatherings of more than five people without prior permission. It also restricts the use of loudspeakers without official approval and bans statements or actions that could disrupt public tranquillity.
The DM’s order further warns that any violation will invite strict action under Section 223 of BNSS 2023, ensuring accountability for anyone attempting to disturb law and order.
Authorities said the restrictions are temporary and intended to prevent any untoward incident, maintaining peace and public safety in the region.
