POONCH, Sept 24: The second day of the three-day Multi-Media Exhibition on Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSSs), organised by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Poonch at Government Degree College (GDC) Surankote, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, officials and the general public.

The programme was graced by D. Rani Mughal, Principal, GDC Surankote, as the chief guest, while Ghulam Abbas, Director, CBC J&K, Ladakh presided over the function. Dr Mughal highlighted the Government’s commitment to empowering citizens through people-centric schemes and applauded CBC’s outreach efforts.
Dr Mughal and other speakers highlighted initiatives including Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), Ujjwala, PMGKAY, Saubhagya, Har Ghar Jal, Swachh Bharat Mission, Kisan Credit Card, Stand Up India, Start Up India, Kaushal Vikas and Mudra Loans, stressing how these programmes aim to benefit citizens across life stages.
Director CBC Ghulam Abbas provided an overview of the Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) and explained how CSS touch lives from prenatal care to old age. The exhibition also featured expert sessions and departmental stalls offering on-spot guidance.
Speakers from various departments shared sector-specific inputs: Imtiyaz Ahmed (Forest Dept) spoke on Mission LiFE and sustainable living; Sanjeev Saraf (Agriculture) explained KCC, Soil Health Card, PM-Kisan Nidhi, HADP and the Kisan Sathi Portal; Sabha Manhas (ICDS) highlighted Poshan Abhiyaan. Imtiyaz Kazmi, Chairperson of Sir Sayeed Memorial High School, spoke on new criminal laws aimed at transparent and citizen-friendly justice delivery.
The exhibition featured stalls from the ICDS, Health, Rural Development and Social Welfare departments, free health check-ups for non-communicable diseases, expert seminars, quizzes, cultural performances, selfie corners and prizes for Anganwadi workers. Students from GBHSS Surankote and Sir Sayeed Memorial High School actively participated in IEC activities and the open quiz.
Organisers urged the public to visit the exhibition, which offers free entry, to learn about government schemes and avail the benefits available to citizens.
