Winners of Ladakh Marathon 2025 celebrating at Leh

Leh, Sept 15: The 12th edition of the Ladakh Marathon concluded in Leh with breathtaking performances as Jammu and Kashmir’s Hans Raj and Ladakh’s Stanzin Chondol secured top honours in the men’s and women’s 42-km full marathon categories.

Full Marathon Highlights

Hans Raj clinched the men’s title with a strong run, clocking 2:47:41. Stanzin Chondol stormed to victory in the women’s section, finishing in 3:13:00, a performance that also placed her sixth overall among all male and female runners.

Participation & Scale

This year’s event drew an impressive 6,600 runners representing every Indian state and union territory, alongside participants from 30+ countries. The full marathon began and ended at Leh’s iconic NDS Stadium.

Other Race Categories & Winners

  • Half Marathon: Tsetan Namgail (Men’s, 1:13:10) and Stanzin Dolkar (Women’s, 1:30:14).
  • 11.2 km Run: Sonam Stanzin (Men’s, 42:39) edged Furboo Tundup by just 10 seconds; Skarma Idong Lanzes (Women’s, 47:30) dominated her category.
  • Veterans’ 11.2 km: Tsewang Dorjay (Men’s) and Sarah Hanan-Bajwa (Women’s).
  • Veterans’ Half Marathon: Arvind Basaiawmoit (Men’s) and Shilpa Phadke (Women’s).
  • Veterans’ Full Marathon: Shyamapada Das (Men’s) and Rita Satish Patkar (Women’s). Notably, Patkar also won the Khardung La Challenge veterans’ race.

A Celebration of Endurance

The Ladakh Marathon, considered one of the world’s highest-altitude endurance events, continues to inspire athletes globally. This year’s edition underscored the spirit of resilience and unity, with remarkable close finishes, especially in the men’s 11.2 km category.
