New Delhi (Del), Sept 18: India on Thursday said it will examine the implications of the newly signed defence pact between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, stressing that the development will be studied in the context of national security and its impact on regional as well as global stability.

Details of the Agreement
The “Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement” was signed by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Abdulaziz Al Saud and Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during Sharif’s official visit to Riyadh. According to the joint statement, any aggression against either country will be considered an aggression against both.
India’s Response
External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India had taken note of the pact and acknowledged that it had been under consideration for some time. “We will study the implications of this development for our national security as well as for regional and global stability,” he stated. He reiterated that New Delhi remains committed to protecting its national interests and ensuring comprehensive security across all domains.
