Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah Pray for Peace and Brotherhood at Hazratbal Shrine
Srinagar, Sept 12: National Conference president Dr. Farooq Abdullah, along with Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, offered Friday prayers today at the revered Hazratbal Shrine. On the occasion, Dr. Farooq Abdullah said he prayed for peace, prosperity, and an end to hardships faced by the people.
Appeal for Forgiveness and Unity
Speaking to reporters after the prayers, Dr. Abdullah observed that Muslims across the world are facing suffering because they have strayed away from the Almighty. He emphasized the need to renounce dishonesty and sin, adding: “Until we get closer to Him, the Almighty will not forgive us.”
He prayed for forgiveness, mercy upon India, and for harmony so that Hindus and Muslims live together in peace and brotherhood.
Omar Abdullah Joins Congregation
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah joined thousands of devotees who had gathered at Hazratbal on the occasion of the Friday following Milad-un-Nabi (SAW). After the congregational prayers, the Chief Minister witnessed the sacred glimpse (deedar) of the Holy Relic of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
On this blessed occasion, Omar Abdullah prayed for peace, prosperity, and happiness for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He was accompanied by Advisor to the Chief Minister, Nasir Aslam Wani.
