
Dinesh Karthik to lead Team India at Hong Kong Sixes 2025
HONG KONG, Sept 23: Former India wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik has been appointed captain of Team India for the upcoming Hong Kong Sixes 2025, the tournament organisers announced on Tuesday. The fast-paced cricket carnival begins from November 7.
Karthik, known for his international experience, leadership qualities and explosive batting, said he was honoured to lead India in a competition with such a rich history. “It is an absolute honour leading Team India at the Hong Kong Sixes. I look forward to leading a group of talented players and together we aim to bring joy to fans with fearless and entertaining cricket,” Karthik said.
Burji Shroff, Chairperson of Cricket Hong Kong China, welcomed the appointment, saying, “We are thrilled to have Dinesh Karthik as captain. His leadership and experience will add immense value, and we are confident his presence will draw fans from across the globe to this spectacular cricketing festival.”
The Hong Kong Sixes, one of cricket’s most entertaining short formats, will feature top players and promises fast-paced, high-scoring encounters, with Karthik’s leadership expected to boost India’s chances in the tournament.
