Extended CWC with Key Leaders
According to sources, the Patna meeting will be an extended CWC session attended by permanent and special invitees, Chief Ministers from Congress-ruled states, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) presidents, and Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leaders. The discussions are expected to revolve around Bihar elections, future poll strategy, and organizational strengthening.
Top Leadership to Attend
The meeting, scheduled for 10 am on September 24, will see participation from all senior party leaders, including party president Mallikarjun Kharge and former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi. It comes at a time when seat-sharing talks with Mahagathbandhan allies are ongoing.
Recent Developments in Bihar
The CWC session follows Rahul Gandhi’s “Voter Adhikar Yatra” in Bihar, which focused on alleged irregularities in the electoral rolls and energized the party cadre ahead of elections. Just a day earlier, the Congress had also announced its 39-member Pradesh Election Committee led by Bihar PCC chief Rajesh Ram, with members like Shakeel Ahmed Khan and Madan Mohan Jha included. MPs, MLAs, MLCs, AICC secretaries, CWC members from Bihar, and heads of frontal organizations will be permanent invitees.
Bihar Polls Expected in November
The Bihar Assembly elections are expected around November this year. With the CWC meeting, the Congress aims to finalize its poll strategy and consolidate its position within the Mahagathbandhan alliance to take on the BJP-led NDA.
