SRINAGAR, Sept 23: Dr. Syed Naseer Hussain, All India Congress Committee (AICC) general secretary and incharge party affairs in Jammu and Kashmir, reviewed organizational activities and discussed the prevailing socio-political situation during his two-day visit to Kashmir. He was accompanied by JKPCC president Tariq Hameed Karra.

The meeting, held at the Srinagar party headquarters, was attended by district coordinators, presidents and senior Congress leaders. Hussain sought feedback on party activities at both national and state levels and was briefed about outreach programmes being carried out across districts in Kashmir.

Party functionaries assured the AICC general secretary of their commitment to strengthening Congress at the grassroots and reaching out to the public. They highlighted that citizens continue to appreciate Congress’ proactive role and its consistent efforts to raise public issues for resolution.

Hussain expressed satisfaction with the progress of party activities over the last six months and lauded JKPCC for launching the “Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq” movement advocating for the restoration of statehood to J&K.

The discussions also focused on performance-based restructuring of the organization and strengthening activities at the grassroots level, especially in remote and far-flung areas.

On the occasion, Tariq Hameed Karra emphasized the need to continue building momentum under the “Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq” campaign and urged leaders to strictly implement national programmes in their respective districts. He said people have great expectations from Congress given its strong stand on statehood and its uncompromising fight to safeguard the rights of the people.
