Remarks at Techknow-2025
Speaking at the concluding session of Techknow-2025, organised by Delhi Public School (DPS) Srinagar, Omar Abdullah applauded the creativity of students, including innovations like a Humanoid Robot. He emphasized the Government’s commitment to modern learning, AI knowledge, and innovation-driven education.
“I would like to see more participation from Government schools in such events. Our responsibility is to ensure they are not left behind and are prepared to compete with children across the world,” he said.
Adapting to Technological Change
Reflecting on the rapid pace of global change, the Chief Minister cited examples such as Albania appointing an AI entity as a minister, noting how artificial intelligence is transforming industries and jobs. He highlighted how AI tools like ChatGPT are reshaping coding and software development, making technology more accessible.
“Education must evolve to keep pace with these transformations. While some schools are advancing quickly, others continue to lag behind and need urgent support,” he observed.
DPS Srinagar’s Role
Omar Abdullah praised DPS Srinagar for not only empowering its own students but also supporting initiatives that included participation from Government school students. He toured the institution’s facilities, including the computer labs, Atal Tinkering Lab, Innovation Hub, Junior School, and Learning Resource Centre.
Advice to Students
Encouraging curiosity, he told students: “Always keep asking questions. It is curiosity that drives progress, and it is questions that create the answers of tomorrow.”
