CID Jammu team arrested Ravi Chandran, a fugitive in a terror case, after 20 years

Jammu, Sept 16: In a major breakthrough, the CID Counter Intelligence Jammu (CID-CIJ) has arrested Ravi Chandran alias Ravi, an absconder wanted in a terror-related case registered at Police Station JIC Jammu. The accused had been on the run for more than two decades before being tracked down in Bengaluru, Karnataka.

Breakthrough After 20 Years

According to an official statement, CID J&K’s Fugitive Tracking Team had been relentlessly pursuing leads on absconding criminals and terror suspects. Their sustained efforts culminated in locating Ravi Chandran in Bengaluru and organizing his arrest in coordination with local authorities.

Joint Operation with Karnataka Police

A special team from CID-CIJ Jammu, working closely with Bengaluru City Police, executed a well-coordinated arrest. Karnataka Police provided operational support, local intelligence, and logistical assistance, enabling the safe detention and escort of the accused back to Jammu under heavy security.

Judicial Custody and Legal Proceedings

Upon arrival in Jammu, Ravi Chandran was produced before the court, which remanded him to judicial custody. The CID said this successful operation highlights its commitment to ensuring long-absconding offenders face justice and to strengthening national security by dismantling terror networks.

The agency reaffirmed its resolve to continue aggressive pursuit of fugitives and proclaimed offenders across India through inter-agency cooperation and intelligence-led operations.
