
Dr. Jitendra Singh launches portal for Special Campaign 5.0 in New Delhi
NEW DELHI, Sept 16: Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science & Technology; Earth Sciences, MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh today launched a dedicated web portal for Special Campaign 5.0, aimed at institutionalizing Swachhata and reducing pendency in Government offices.

Achievements of Previous Campaigns
Highlighting the impact of the drive, Dr. Singh informed that a cumulative revenue of Rs 3,296.71 crore was generated through disposal of office scrap over the last five years. This also resulted in the freeing of 696.27 lakh sq. ft. of office space across Ministries and Departments. Additionally, 12.04 lakh cleanliness sites were identified and 137.86 lakh files were closed or weeded out, creating both financial and administrative efficiency.
Calling it a hallmark initiative, he said the Special Campaign reflects Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of promoting cleanliness while enhancing productivity and governance efficiency.

- Third-Party Evaluation: Nov 15 – Nov 30, 2025
Weekly reviews will be carried out by Secretaries and Nodal Officers, and consolidated reports submitted to the Cabinet Secretariat and PMO by DARPG.

- Systematic e-waste disposal (unserviceable computers, laptops, printers, LEDs, etc.)
- Timely clearance of pending matters (MPs’ References, Parliamentary Assurances, PMO References, State References)

Departmental Achievements
- Department of School Education & Literacy: Through Vidyanjali Portal, donated 100 monitors, 100 CPUs, 88 keyboards, 117 mice to schools. Freed 1,44,337 sq. ft. of space at NVS headquarters.
- Ministry of Coal: Earned Rs 321.47 crore via scrap disposal, removing 59.453 MT scrap and freeing 2.62 crore sq. ft. of office space.
- Department of Posts: Generated Rs 5 crore revenue in last five years with increasing campaign sites nationwide.
- Railway Board: Under Special Campaign 4.0, earned Rs 452.4 crore and cleared 76,000 tonnes of waste from railway establishments.
