Relief Commissioner Dr. Arvind Karwani reviewing construction works for PM Package employees in Kashmir. 

 

SRINAGAR, Sept 20: Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner (M), Dr. Arvind Karwani, today inspected ongoing construction of transit accommodation sites for Prime Minister’s Package employees at multiple locations across North, Central, and South Kashmir.

Focus on timely completion

Accompanied by senior officers from district administration and line departments, Dr. Karwani reviewed the progress and directed engineers to complete the projects within fixed timelines before the onset of winter. He stressed the early completion of allied works such as boundary walls, internal roads, and essential amenities to facilitate timely possession of allotted quarters.

Quality as per DPR

Interacting with site engineers, Dr. Karwani instructed them to strictly adhere to the approved Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) and ensure quality standards are maintained at every stage of construction.

Interaction with employees

During his visit to Baramulla, Kupwara, Srinagar, Budgam, and Anantnag, the Relief Commissioner also met PM Package employees. The employees highlighted issues related to allotment of quarters, drinking water, power supply, sanitation, education, and recreational facilities for their children. Dr. Karwani assured them that their concerns would be addressed promptly.

Project status

Under the Prime Minister’s Development Programme (PMDP), 6,000 residential quarters are being constructed across 20 locations in Kashmir for PM Package employees. Of these, nearly 3,500 units have already been completed, while the remaining are under various stages of execution.
