Punjab CM Mann Chairs Meeting with Senior Cops, Calls for Timely Rehabilitation of Flood Victims

CHANDIGARH, Sept 26: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday chaired a virtual meeting with police commissioners and senior superintendents of police (SSPs) from across the state, emphasizing the need for close coordination between police and civil administration to ensure timely rehabilitation of victims affected by the recent devastating floods.

Mann directed officers to ensure that relief and compensation reach only the genuine victims who suffered losses. He urged seamless coordination between departments to make the process smooth and hassle-free for affected families.

The chief minister also asked police officers to implement confidence-building measures in flood-hit areas and extend every possible support to victims as part of the government’s commitment to their welfare.

Reiterating the state’s zero-tolerance policy towards crime, Mann instructed police to intensify efforts to maintain law and order and ensure public safety.

Mann lauded the role of Punjab Police during the floods, calling their contributions “immense” and worthy of being “remembered in golden letters in the annals of history.”

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary K A P Sinha, DGP Gaurav Yadav, and other senior officials, according to an official statement.
