Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha interacts with delegations in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, Sept 18: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today held a series of interactions with public representatives, political leaders, civil society members and activists who apprised him of various issues concerning infrastructure, welfare and development in Jammu and Kashmir.

Darshan Kumar, MLA from Basohli, called on the Lieutenant Governor and raised concerns regarding the restoration of road infrastructure damaged in the recent floods and heavy rainfall, besides seeking support measures for affected families.

Saima Jan, District Development Council (DDC) member from BK Pora in Budgam, and Anayat Ullah Rather, DDC member from Frisal in Kulgam, also met the Lieutenant Governor and shared developmental priorities of their respective constituencies.

Later, a delegation of the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar faction) led by National General Secretary K.K. Sharma, along with members of the Magam Civil Society, called on Sinha to discuss regional issues.

A team from the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), J&K unit, also met the Lieutenant Governor, urging him to consider rescheduling upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) examinations in view of disruptions caused by recent natural calamities.

In another meeting, Atul Bhai Kothari, National Secretary of Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, accompanied by organization office-bearers and faculty members from different universities of J&K, briefed the Lieutenant Governor on initiatives in the field of education.

Prominent women’s rights activist Irfana Zargar, popularly known as the “Padwoman of Kashmir”, also called on the Lieutenant Governor. She highlighted her ongoing campaigns aimed at women’s empowerment in the Valley and discussed possible avenues of administrative support.
