LS Speaker Om Birla inaugurating the Namo Toy Bank initiative in Kota

Kota (RJ), Sept 18: Lok Sabha Speaker and Kota-Bundi MP Om Birla on Thursday inaugurated the ‘Namo Toy Bank’ in Kota city, an initiative aimed at distributing toys to underprivileged children through community participation.

About the Initiative

The toy bank, set up on Kotri Road in Gumanpura, will allow children to donate their old toys, which will then be distributed among those in need. The initiative has already received thousands of toy donations from school children across the city.

Speaker’s Remarks

Birla said the project would instil a spirit of service and empathy among children. “Through this initiative, children will develop values such as service, leadership and sensitivity, which will guide their lives and strengthen society,” he said. He stressed that the effort is not just about toys, but about building a culture of compassion, partnership and responsibility from a young age. “The resolve is that no child in Kota-Bundi should be deprived of resources, and every home should have an atmosphere of happiness and self-respect,” Birla added.

Event Highlights

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Mahesh Gupta of Shivjyoti Group, Sahodaya Complex president Pradeep Singh Gaur, Private Schools’ Association president Sanjay Sharma, and several school administrators, teachers, students and representatives from the education sector.
