NEW YORK, Sep 25: In a shocking incident, Varun Suresh, a 29-year-old Indian-origin man, has been charged with the murder of a 71-year-old registered sex offender in Fremont, California, according to US media reports.

Court documents reveal that Suresh allegedly said he had wanted for years to kill a sex offender because “they hurt children” and that he believed they “deserve to die,” Fox KTVU reported. The incident took place last week in the 600 block of Upper Vintners Circle.
Authorities said Suresh chased the victim, identified as David Brimmer, into an unrelated home and continued attacking him. When police arrived, Brimmer was found unresponsive on the ground with multiple stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Suresh has been charged with murder, residential burglary, use of a deadly weapon, and causing great bodily injury. Investigators stated that Suresh did not personally know the victim but had found his details on the California Megan’s Law Website, which lists registered sex offenders.
“Investigation revealed that Suresh specifically targeted the victim because of the victim’s age and previous offences,” Fremont Police said in a statement.
