DyCM Attaches Two DMOs Over Public Complaints; Kathua DMO Takes Additional Charge

Jammu, September 3, 2025 — Taking serious note of complaints from the general public, Deputy Chief Minister **Surinder Choudhary** ordered the attachment of two District Mining Officers (DMOs) with immediate effect.

• DMO **Kupwara**, Mumtaz Ahmad (also holding additional charge of Bandipora), has been attached to the **Office of the Director, Geology & Mining, Jammu**.
• DMO **Samba**, Mohd Sharfraz, has been attached to the **Directorate of Geology & Mining, Srinagar**.
• Meanwhile, the DMO of **Kathua** will now hold additional charge of **DMO Samba**, along with his existing responsibilities.

The Deputy CM emphasized that public service remains the government's top priority under the Omar Abdullah-led administration, cautioning that complaints will be taken seriously and any misconduct will invite immediate action.
