JAMMU, Sept 21: Reiterating the Government’s commitment to address public grievances at people’s doorstep, Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Sunday undertook a day-long tour of Dansal and Nagrota blocks, where he interacted with residents and reviewed the condition of areas hit by recent flash floods and heavy rains.

During the visit, the Deputy CM toured Panchayat Badsoo in Block Dansal and Panchayats Kattal Battal and Sandhi in Block Nagrota, besides adjoining affected areas. He also convened grievance redressal camps, patiently hearing issues ranging from water and electricity supply to damaged road infrastructure.

Choudhary directed the concerned officers to resolve people’s problems on priority, assuring timely and effective redressal. He also assured local representatives that the Government would seriously consider all demands raised and take appropriate action, stressing that the administration’s objective is to improve rural facilities and accelerate development at the grassroots.

Inspecting damaged roads and bridges, the Deputy CM instructed engineers to expedite restoration works and ensure financial assistance to affected families who lost homes or livestock. He emphasized that grievance redress must be socially responsible and aimed at providing genuine relief to the public.

Asserting that the Omar Abdullah-led Government is actively engaging with citizens across far-flung areas, Choudhary said improving infrastructure and the quality of life in rural belts remains a top priority.
