
Police seized a Tata Mobile vehicle carrying bovines illegally in Doda.
DODA, Sept 17: Police in Thathri, Doda today foiled a bovine smuggling attempt and rescued five bovines being transported illegally in cruel conditions. The driver of the vehicle was arrested on the spot.

Naka Checking at Thathri
A routine Naka checking was established at Dunaddi Kalnai by a police team from Police Station Thathri led by SHO Thathri under the supervision of SDPO Bhaderwah. During the drive, a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration number JK06B-2364 was intercepted.
Illegal Transport Exposed
On inspection, police found five bovines loaded in the vehicle without food or water arrangements. The animals were being transported in violation of norms and in a cruel manner. The driver was identified as Irfan Ahmed, son of Mohd Iqbal Laway, resident of Bagla, Doda.
Legal Action
The accused driver was arrested on the spot and the vehicle was seized. A case under FIR No. 56/2025 has been registered at Police Station Thathri under sections 223 BNS and 11 PCA. Further investigation is underway.
