Couple Killed, 7 Injured in Car-Bike Collision on Jammu Ring Road

Police register case; victims shifted to hospitals for treatment

JAMMU, Sept 14: A tragic road accident claimed the lives of a couple from Sainik Colony, Jammu, while seven other people sustained injuries after a Baleno car collided with a roadside railing and later hit a motorcycle on the Ring Road area this afternoon.

Around 4:30 PM, a Baleno car (JK02CV-8213), travelling from Miran Sahib towards Vijaypur, lost control and rammed into a railing before crashing into a motorcycle (JK21H-9306). The impact left nine people injured — six from the car and three, including a minor, from the motorcycle.

According to police officials, all the injured were rushed to Sub-District Hospital. Among them, Sunita Devi, wife of Dharm Pal of Sainik Colony, succumbed to her injuries, while her husband was declared brought dead at Government Medical College, Jammu.

The other injured have been identified as:

• Anil Samotra, son of Dharm Pal, resident of Sainik Colony
• Mamta Choudhary Baloria, wife of Nishant Baloria
• Paresha Baloria (minor), daughter of Nishant and Mamta
• Nishant Baloria, son of Madhu Pal of Gaghwal, Kathua
• Suresh Kumar (45), son of Devi Dass of Supwal, Samba
• Reeta Devi, wife of Suresh Kumar
• Kunal (9), son of Suresh Kumar

All the injured are currently responding to treatment, doctors confirmed. The deceased bodies have been shifted for post-mortem examination. Meanwhile, the police have registered a case at Police Station Bishnah under relevant sections and launched further investigation.
