Addressing a gathering at JLNM Hospital Srinagar as part of Sewa Pakhwada to mark PM Modi’s 75th birthday, Sinha stressed that terrorism and naxalism are major threats to India’s development. “Completely dismantling their ecosystem will ensure peace in the country,” he said.
On Terrorism and National Security
“Before PM Modi took charge, terrorism had pushed the country onto the backfoot. Under his leadership, India has regained confidence and strength. Naxalism is on its last legs, and terrorism has been crushed across the nation,” the LG said.
He underlined that funders of terrorism are even more dangerous than those who wield weapons and called for rooting out all forms of terror support systems in J&K to achieve lasting peace and prosperity.
India’s Economic Transformation
Sinha highlighted India’s remarkable growth over the last decade, noting that the nation has become the world’s fourth-largest economy. “Nearly 25 crore people have risen above poverty in the past 11 years, living dignified lives,” he said, while adding that corruption has also been curtailed substantially.
Women Empowerment in J&K
The LG praised women’s contribution to the country’s progress. “In J&K, more than 9 lakh women are associated with Self-Help Groups, and over 42,000 Lakhpati Didis are transforming the grassroots economy. Our daughters are winning more medals than men,” he noted.
He emphasized that PM Modi’s women-centric schemes have enabled women to emerge as key agents of change in society.
Sewa Pakhwada & Health Initiatives
Sinha inaugurated a health camp and distributed medical aids and sanction letters under Mission YUVA during the event. He said the Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan, launched by the Ministry of Health and MoWCD, will strengthen healthcare access for women and children across India. More than one lakh health camps are being organised nationwide, making it the largest-ever health outreach campaign.
Birthday Wishes to PM Modi
Extending warm wishes to the Prime Minister, the LG said: “The past 11 years under PM Modi have been a milestone in India’s transformation. His leadership has lifted millions out of poverty and enhanced India’s global stature.”
