DODA, Sept 27: Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh today chaired a DISHA meeting with district officials in Kishtwar and directed the administration to expedite relief and rehabilitation work following recent cloudbursts and flash floods.

Dr Singh reviewed the implementation of flagship schemes including Jal Jeevan Mission, PMAY, PMGSY, PM-Kisan and Sansad Khel Spardha, stressing that delivery of essential supplies like water and electricity must remain a top priority, particularly in far-flung and remote areas.
The Minister also called for public representatives to accompany district officers during rural visits to ensure better coordination and redressal of public grievances. He said the airstrip project under UDAN scheme must be expedited to provide round-the-year connectivity for the region.
Dr Singh directed the Deputy Commissioner to furnish a status report on the airstrip and to project fund requirements under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund to secure allocation from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
He highlighted the importance of strengthening health and education infrastructure, skill development for youth, and engaging local youth in NHPC’s ongoing projects. He also emphasized holding camps to encourage participation in the Sansad Khel Spardha to promote sports culture.
Deputy Commissioner Pawan Kumar Sharma informed that 100% targets have been met under PMAY (Gramin), ₹120.48 crore has been disbursed under PM-Kisan, ₹147.34 crore under Kisan Credit Card Scheme, and subsidies under PM Surya Ghar Yojana have been released to 208 beneficiaries.
The meeting was attended by Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma, DDC members, and senior NHPC officials.
